Frocktails the third. Updated!!

Get your sewing machines to the ready, as Frocktails is back!

Details: Focktails 

When: 8th of August 2015 at 6pm sharp. 

Where: Longrain Melbourne

Dress code: this can be as fancy or as casual as you like. There is no pressure to wear your own creation, it's up to you!

Cost: one "ticket" is $72 per head, this includes all the food but be sure to bring cash for drinks. 

Food: Banquet style, see Longrain's website for the current banquet menu, however it will be a little different in August due to seasonability. 

We are doing things a little differently this time...back at Longrain but now you have to buy a "ticket" to secure your spot. Unfortunately this had to be the case as the Sydney Frocktails there were 4 ladies who didn't show on the night, it's not fair that others have to wear the cost on the evening. 

The ever lovely Sarah of Sew Squirrel will be selling the tickets through her website Sew Squirrel, there are 24 available at this stage with a few more to come pending table space.

Just one further note, Sarah and I are not making any money out of the ticket, the price reflects the food, the group surcharge and the payment fees (eg PayPal) for Sarah to set up the ticket. :)

Updated as of the 11th of January:

Due to the overwhelming amount of interest, the tickets have now sold out. I will be enquiring to see if we can have 10 more tickets (seats) available to us for the evening. If I am successful I will advertise the first date of purchase ( on my blog, social media etc) to ensure everyone gets a fair chance to purchase a ticket. Remember it's first in best dress and once they are gone they are gone.

Frocktails

I'm currently chatting away while lying in bed across the way from Sew Busy Lizzy. It's hard to believe frocktails is finally here! 

 

Nicole, myself and Rachel flew in yesterday and had a great time wandering around Surry hills and china town. We visited the fabric store and tessuti, both of which had their remnant tables/bins plundered by myself and Liz. Sorry, not sorry to the ladies going shopping there today! And we're off to visit some more fabric shops of Sydney!

For those lucky ladies going to frocktails tonight remember it's 6pm for 6.30 start at China Republic. 

In advance I just want to thank everyone for coming and hope that we all have an amazing time!

Frocktails an update.

Just a little update, as Frocktails is a little over a month away!

We have a venue booked, some of the interstaters have flights booked, things are a go!

I'm currently struck down with the nastiest bout of food poisoning I have ever had but I'm hoping to send out all the details in a day or two. 

I hope you're all sewing away! 

Frocktails: The date is set!

Oh my, Frocktails Sydney is reaching epic proportions! How fantastic! 

So far we have 26 interested ladies who are very excited about the evening. 

Please book the 13th of September into your diaries, I'm sorry to anyone who can't attend that day, the majority has ruled. 

So obviously September is 5 months away so I hear you saying, what should I do now? 

Well besides plan your outfit, you need to email me your expression of interest ( if you haven't already) to allegravintage@gmail.com 

I'll try my best to find a restaurant that can fit everyone and I'll try my best not to turn anyone away but I need you to email me your interest. 

When the details are finalised I will need you to book your spot for the evening by prepaying which is non refundable unless I can get someone to fill your spot.

Now someone please tell me what I should sew for this event! Or maybe better yet sew it for me.

Hello Frocktailers,

Who's excited for Frocktails in Sydney?

I have been making very loose plans at this stage, and we need to set a date so I can book in a venue. I'm thinking a private dining room might be the best way to go so numbers will probably be limited to 30 people. 

Please cast your vote, (on the blog, not via twitter) majority will rule, however I may pull rank if there is a tie. 

Current dates available are:

- August the 30th

- September the 6th

- September the 13th 

Also who from Melbourne or interstate is interested in coming?

Frocktails Final RSVP's.

Frocktails is fasting approaching, I'm delirious with excitement.
When I start talking about Frocktails, I get a silly grin on my face! I'm sure it will be better than what I dream it to be when I'm up feeding Ginger in the wee hours of the night.

Just to recap here is some information:

What time?
6.00pm till late.
What do I wear? 
That's up to you! It could be great if we could all wear a dressy self-stitched frock, but that may not suitable for your lifestyle etc, as long as its made by you, you'll fit right in.

There has been a lot of chat on twitter on what to wear or make, something to remember, make whatever you feel comfortable in! Everyone is an individual, so if you feel comfortable in a day dress or pants then make that, we won't judge you!

Meet Ginger!

My darling creation was born last week, 12 days overdue!

Ginger arrived weighing 4.05 kilos, and 54cm long!

His eviction orders were well and truly served. With the help of some powerful drugs, bought on his speedy arrival, in a 3 hours and 20 minute labour!

We were home late afternoon on Thursday and we have been getting to know our little Ginger ever since.  We having being marvelling at our beautiful creation. My heart breaks when I think about how much love I have for him. 

He is a lovely, happy baby, although he sleeps through the day and not the night, that's how he was in utero too so not much has changed. I'm sure you can see by the photo what cubby cheeks he has! They are even better in person, just great for squishing!

I'm doing really well, and feel great, I haven't been counting the weight but on the day of his birth, I lost 5 kilos! I was happy about that. I have decided at this stage not to share his name on the blog. 

I'm going to take a few months break from blogging although not sewing, and will be back with new dresses and tops later in the year.

There will be a frocktails update in meantime, which I will be then communicating via email, so if you have RSVP'd looked out for that. Remember I need your email address to contact you. :)

As much as you would like to spend. Please check out Longrains menu for a rough idea, on average, dinner and dessert will set you back about $65 per head.
