One of many...

One of many applies to a lot of things in my life right now.
One of many piles of mess.
One of many paint brushes.
One of many big sloppy kisses.
One of many scout woven tees...this is my fourth version of this lovely pattern.
I have made it up in a knit, two rayons and now a double gauze.

As this was my fourth version it came together in about 4 hours, no joke. I spent more time worrying about pattern placement as no one wants a spotty boob. I bought the Nani Iro fabric and matching bias binding from an Etsy seller on a whim a month or two back.

Details:
Pattern: Scout woven tee by Grainline Studios
Size: 6 grading out to a 12 at the hips
Fabric: 1.1metres of Nani Iro Japanese Gauze, plus matching bias binding
Alternations: Added 3.1cms to the length and 2-3cm sway back adjustment (it wasn't enough see pooling in last photo)

Comments:
I'm hoping the fabric softens up a fair bit as its quite stiff in a way, which affects the style of the tee, I'm not sure its the most flattering of tops, but it is good sun protection and it fills a gap in my mummy lifestyle. First worn on our weekend trip to Sydney, I managed to leave all my accessories at home except my sunglasses!

  1. I love your Scout T, it looks great on. I have made two versions of the Scout T in Nani Iro and they do soften in the wash. They are my go to tops I love them. I have tried a few other similar patterns to see if a slightly different shape would be better but I keep going back to the Scout T, for me it is by far the best.

  2. Hello! Such pretty fabric & I'm sure that it will soften up with a wash or two.
I still haven't made this pattern & every time I see one in a gorgeous woven I think 'why haven't I made this??' Clearly I'm a slow learner!
And I will send that fabric... still haven't got to the post office but I will soon! xo

    1. No rush with the fabric my dear, I have little time currently for sewing and I have yet to find a pattern for the lovely fabric. I'll send you the pattern when I can. XX

    1. Yes I struggled for a while with my blogging, so for now it will be photos and a brief summary. I find my eyes glaze over if i write to much and really there have been plenty of reviews for this top so I'm sure I'm not saying anything new! We had a great time in Sydney, although I pronouce SID-DNEY! ha

  7. Hi Kat,
Please forgive my leaving this in a comment, I couldn’t find an e-mail address for you. I’m making an index of Australian sewing bloggers, which you can find here: http://iammsfrizzle.blogspot.com/2014/12/sewists-of-australia.html I hope you don’t mind being on it- just let me know if you want to be removed. Thank you!
